Christian School of Etiquette & Dance
About Visions
Visions opened its doors in May 2000 under the direction and leading of the Holy Spirit. So with five teenage students and a desire to do what had been purposed for her life Deborah Stewart-Akles moved into 8203 Harford Road in Parkville, Maryland, to begin God’s work. Through word of mouth her classes grew, and by January 2001 instruction included ages from three to teens.
An adult aerobics class also began, but the interest in dance from the adult students led to changing the forum of that class from aerobics to dance. Today the school now instructs ages from three to adults. By 2003 Visions had out grown of its location, and God opened the door again this time to a larger more suitable location. Currently the school is located at 8001-B Harford Road Parkville, Maryland just two blocks away from its original location. Only our Lord could have made this possible.
Visions has performed twenty-one dance recitals in which some have successfully moved members of the audience to accept our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ before the recital ended, bringing God’s plan full circle. Ministering through dance the school has been blessed to spread the Gospel throughout the state of Maryland at rallies, shopping malls, civic and political events, as well as fellowshipping with other dance organizations and churches. Whenever an occasion arises to extend the Word to the people of God through dance Vision accepts the call.
Visions is not just any dance school, but is one in which Christ is the center. Here children, teens, young adults, and those who are young at heart are given the Word of God first and then trained in the various techniques of dance. Prayer and devotions are a vital part of every class. Etiquette is a mandatory class for all preteens through adults, where the focus is on the attributes of a Proverbs:31 woman. Through mentoring, teaching and witnessing students of all ages begin to understand and see the significance of living a life for Christ. Visions believes that it’s not what you say about Christ, the true testimony is how you live your life in front of others, and Visions’ desire is to show Christ to a dying world in all aspects and at every opportunity.

OUR MISSION
To give our students a clear understanding of God's word and to help them achieve through the Holy Spirit the disire to live sanctified, spirit-filled lives.
SCHOOL PHILOSPHY
We want our students to understand who they are in Christ and who they are dancing for, and why they are dancing for the Lord. The major requirement in dancing at the Vision School is a Holy, set-apart life.

Keep up the Awesome Work
My daughter has been dancing for Vision Christian School of Etiquette and Dance since the age of 7. She has made new friends and has gained so much confidence over the past years. This is truly a great program not only for those looking to praise the Lord through dance but also a desire to perfect the art of dance.
My husband, daughter and I absolutely love this Christian based school of dance!!!!
It's welcoming & family like environment. the entire staff is not only professional & friendly they take the time to motivate & embrace each individual student. We could not have enrolled our daughter at a better dance school. It's home away from home." Mrs. T. Johnson
Ms. Debbie really invests her heart, body and soul in her girls
My 22 year old daughter, Jasmine, recent graduate from Towson University Family Studies/Sociology Major has been a student at Visions Christian School of Etiquette & Dance since she was 12 years old. My daughter had taken tap/ballet at the age of 3 for only one year; so you could say she was new to dance at 12 years old. We went to a Vision's recital and she determined that she wanted to be apart of Vision's. Little did we know that she was becoming apart of a family. Ms. Debbie really invests her heart, body and soul in her girls. Teaching dance is in addition to learning the word and she leads by example of how to be a woman of God. My daughter has grown into a beautiful young woman, and as a single parent, I recognize that Ms. Debbie was a huge positive influence in her life. Jasmine's evolution at Vision's: student, teacher, mentor! Jasmine is not only still active with her Vision family as a teacher and mentor, she has decided that she would eventually like to have a career working with kids and incorporating dance as an expressive form and a way to help with their self esteem. We love Ms. Debbie and are very grateful to the huge influence that Visions Christian School of Etiquette & Dance on our lives.
